Our log cabin is located directly by the lake, close to the village of Ytterån. From here it is 35 km to Östersund with its beautiful town centre and 65 km to the fells and Åre. A holiday in the cottage on the edge of the farm with children, three sled dogs, cats and chickens also offers farm experiences.
The modern log cabin has a warm, cosy atmosphere. On 85 m2 you can expect large panoramic windows with a fantastic lake view, a soapstone fireplace, two bedrooms and a bathroom, and the centrepiece of the house is a large, bright room with a modern kitchen, dining table, sofa area and fireplace. The west side of this room consists of panoramic windows, through which you have a fantastic view of the lake at all times! In winter, the soapstone fireplace heats the entire house via a water tank. In less favourable weather, you can pass the time with a Smart TV and there is a large double bed in the downstairs bedroom. With a bit of luck, you can even watch the Northern Lights from your bed on clear nights. The second bedroom, which can be reached via a staircase, offers enough space for four guests. The bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin is equipped with underfloor heating, as is the entire ground floor of the house.Because the utility room with hot water tank and washing machine is particularly warm in winter, it is also ideal as a drying room. You can find more information by searching for Lakeside Loghouse.
We are happy to fill and heat our bathing barrel by the lake for an expense allowance of SEK 700 per evening, weather permitting, and we offer guided tours such as fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing, ice fishing and canoeing for interested guests. You can find more information by searching for Lakeside Loghouse.
Our lake offers a number of opportunities in the immediate vicinity. Fishing is of particular interest to many guests. With a bit of luck, you can catch grayling and trout as well as pike and perch, and our log cabin is located on a slightly shallower bay. The shore on the small beach is not too steep, even for children. In addition, the water temperatures here rise above the northern Swedish average in summer. So you can often not only take a refreshing quick dip, but even swim over to a peninsula or take a little breather on sunken boulders in the middle of the bay.you can explore one of the islands of Alsensjön by canoe or kayak, for example.you can wander through the woods along the shore on foot or, after a short drive, hike the hills along Alsensjön or the mountains of the fell. In winter, excursions are not limited to the shores of the lake - just take a walk on the thick ice of the frozen lake. Mus Olles Museum displays the treasures of Per-Olof Nilsson during the summer months. Born on our farm in 1874, the idiosyncratic Mus-Olle scoured the area for all sorts of interesting and banal things, which he then sorted and exhibited, and the fells, the Swedish mountains, which are less than an hour's drive away, are not just great for hiking in summer. In winter, you can choose from many different slopes in Åre, the centre of Swedish alpine sports, or in one of the smaller, quieter ski resorts. Not only in the fells, but in many other places in the area, there are many different trails and easy tracks for cross-country skiing. Östersund is about 30 kilometres away and is also easily accessible by bus. The capital of Jämtland has a lot to offer culturally. For example, a large open-air museum, the Jamtli, an interesting old town centre with good shopping facilities, a large swimming pool and, of course, the world-class ski stadium. Well-known festivals such as Storsjöyran take place here in the summer.
